OmegaT

Translations can be managed using OmegaT. There is a MacOS distribution available for download, or it can be installed via [Macports][] with port install OmegaT. See the OmegaT changelog for release information.

To translate xliff files from older versions of Xcode, install the Filters Plugin for OmegaT which is available from the Okapi Framework, following the instructions for Mac OS X, basically, unzipping and copying the contained plug-in Jar file to ~/Library/Preferences/OmegaT/PlugIns. Create the PlugIns folder if it does not exist.

You may need to experiment with which versions of the plugin are valid for the version of OmegaT. If you get an error on launching OmegaT about unrecognised class file version in the plugin, the JVM that OmegaT is running with is too old. Select About OmegaT from the menu to see which version of JVM it is running with. Depending which version of OmegaT you downloaded, it may be running with an included JVM.

In OmegaT Preferences, select File Filters and disable all XLIFF filters except the Okapi XLIFF filters, e.g. XLIFF files (Okapi).

When I create a new project, I disable the Enable Sentence-level Segmenting as I didn’t like the behaviour. After creating a project, you can change that setting under Project > Properties....
